South of England (1) is already a leading national horse trials and an important event in the British Eventing calendar. The event has grown in size and popularity since it started 47 years ago. This event attracts a lot of the top horses and riders who are heading to Badminton the following month. From Open sections down to BE90 this event accommodates over 500 competitors over the two days and attracts approximately 2000 - 3000 spectators
The South of England International CCI*** & CCI**, is held in the Autumn and is affiliated to both the FEI and British Eventing. It is now in its 15 year attracting the top event riders and its prestige continues to grow with over ten countries usually being represented. We also run BE 100 through to Open Intermediate sections over the weekend.
These events utilize some of the best facilities for any horse trials within the United Kingdom with the permanent pavilion overlooking the main ring.
The cross country courses extend outside the showground and into neighbouring farmland. The courses are designed by Scott Brickle and his team who were the official course builders for the London Olympics in 2012.
